The Memphremagog Historical Society of Newport is dedicated to preserving the history of Newport Town and City.

After months of behind-the scenes work, the Memphremagog Historical society is ready to step out. We are now a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization with a new board and an evolving website. Rather than a membership organization, we are a mutual benefit corporation. We invite anyone with interest in Newport’s history and its surrounding towns to join us; share your energy, expertise, and resources to help us preserve our history and to celebrate our small city.
